Markings on metal: 26 5 CMC
Metal part is 27" long

I can't quite see the part well enough to guess between two of our balances: S380-27 and S385-27. The difference between them is in the shoe, shown below. For a 1-3/32" shoe, choose S385-27, and for the 1" shoe, choose S380-27. Both are available as a "2650" option, comparable to the old "26 5" on your balance.

I wasn't quite sure either. I ordered the S385-27 with the 2650 option.
I received the product, unfortunately, it's not the right one. It's too big.
I'm going to return this one and order the S380-27 with the 2650 option.
Hopefully that is the correct size.

We just received your sample. Your original balance appears to be a good match for our S385-27 with a 2650 option. That should have worked. Can you go into more detail on exactly what the problem was? When you say it was too big, what exactly was big?
