Channel Balances for window

I am looking to buy two matching (left and right) channel balances as shown in the pictures. I could not identify the ends in the ones shown in your web page. I am guessing that the double-pane windows weight about 30 pounds or so. The length of the metal "U" shaped channel is 28". The width of the channel is 1/2". Thanks for your help, and let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks for posting! I'm afraid that we do not have a standard Series whose attachment combination matches yours. That means that your balance will have to be custom made.
Before I can start though, can you first confirm the weight of your window sash? Since the balance has to be custom made, it's important that we know the exact weight.

OK. Because the sliding window has permanent shutters in front of it, I cannot remove entirely to weigh. I was able to put a scale below the window and got a weight measurement of 30 pounds. It is double pane, tempered with an aluminum frame, so the 44 x 27 glass alone appears to be about 25 pounds. I suspect the frame is about 5, so 30 seems reasonable.

The information looks good. I do have one more question. I have never replace these before. Can I assume that it is fairly easy to put them back in and re-insert the window?

Yes! As a matter of fact, of all the balance Series I've seen over the years, this is the easiest. Check out our video on what you need to do, and Mike will take you through the rest:

Wow! The new parts arrived in a timely manner. They are exactly the right size, and appear to be made correctly...even look better than the originals. The little strings in yours are tidy, and the originals were crossed. They fit well, and they were easy to install...thanks to your excellent video. Above all, the window has never worked better. I write a home maintenance article for a small newspaper in our subdivision, and I will definitely recommend your fine service. Thanks again!!
