Channel Window Balance Replacement

The metal portion of the balance is 27" long. I need to order a pair to replace failed units in my son's home (San Jose, CA).

Can you double check the length? Based on that stamp, it should be 28" long, not 27". If so, I recommend our S350-28 channel balance with a 2740 option. Let me know what you think.

I didn't believe my own eyes when reviewing the pictures I took. You're right; it's 28". The two balance units have slightly different stampings on them: The stamps are is "27 4 CALDWELL DM" and "27 4 CALDWELL EM

I wouldn't worry about that. The only important digits in this case are "27 4," which corresponds to our 2740 option. The rest of the stamp is just a manufacturing code and doesn't have any bearing on the function of the balance.
