Channel balance

I have to replace a broken one. Guess I?m supposed to do both. I want to make sure I buy the right size. The metal measures 16 inches, but your options start with 15. Mine is stamped with 1620B. Just a little confused. Can you tell me what I need? Here?s a picture.

Thanks for posting. We can help you replace this balance, but we need a little more information to properly help you. First, we need to see the nylon fitting on the other end of the balance; next, please confirm the length of the metal channel, not including the nylon fittings on either end. From there, we'll do our best to narrow down what you need. Many thanks.

Thanks for the reply. That's actually pretty unusual, as a balance with a stamp starting with '16' is typically 17" long. Sometimes contractors cut balances down to size to fit the windows on site. If you are certain these balances are indeed 16" long, then see either our S351-16 or S390-16. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best.

You'll need to choose a stamp option. Since this balance was cut down to 16" long, we can't go by the stamp code on your old balance. Instead, obtain the exact weight of your window sash. You can then match that exact weight with one of the weight ranges listed alongside each stamp option on the product page.
