Measurements are 28" long, slightly more than 1/2" wide. I also need the caps that attach over the end

Hey there,

Thanks for your post! We can supply the replacements for these balances. Although, to determine the correct match, I'll need to see a front facing view of the top attachment.

In regard to the caps, it sounds like you may be referring to the top sash guides. These are typically located on the top left and right corners of the sash. I'll need to see a photo of them, from front and side profile views, to determine the correct match.

Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Yes, these work. The window balance you have reminds me of the S350-28. You'll need to select the 2730 stamp option. A pair of these will support 13 to 19lbs.

We do not have an exact replacement match for your top sash guides but the 18-172 should work well in its place. You'll need to drill a new hole into the guides to complete the installation.

Keep in mind, altered parts cannot be returned. Our full return policy can be viewed here: Return Policy.

Out of curiosity I weighed the sash that used this balance and it weighs 20lbs. Should I get a different balance?

Hello,

Did you round up or down at all when confirming the sash weight. If you've rounded it, it would be best to stick with the stamp on the existing balances.

That said, if you are certain it is 20lbs, the 2740 option will support a sash weighing between 19 to 26lbs.
