Channel balance identification help?

Home Owner from Flagstaff, Arizona

Hello! My single hung window is very hard to open and close (one side is sagging and the channel guide pulley string is snapped on that same sagging side). I'd like to know what channel balance I need to replace the photographed part. The metal part of the existing channel is 28" (only the metal part, not including the plastic parts). The only marking I can see on the channel is shown in the photo "2740 BSI NK."

The other channel guide for the window does not have the same problem with sagging and its pulley string is intact, but the metal channel on the channel guid has some bending both inward and outward. Would it be advisable to replace it at the same time as replacing the broken channel guide?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi there Becky.

Thanks for reaching out to us. The S350-28 with the 2740 stamp looks like a match. We also always recommend replacing balances in pairs. Using a new balance with an old one would cause the new balance to wear out much faster as it'd have to pick up the slack for its older counterpart.

I'll be here if you have any questions!
