Channel balance replacement

A handy person from Greensboro, NC says:
The stamps on channel balances I need to replace are 3500 BS1 and 2900 BS1 used in tilt windows (top sash is fixed). Since I need eight 35s and 12 29s, I wanted to make sure I ordered correctly. I'm thinking the 770 model is it based on website appearance. Please advise.

Thanks for posting. I agree, the S770-35 and S770-29 look like promising matches. For each balance, you will need to select a stamp option. This stamp option represents the strength of the spring mechanism within the balance that supports your window sash. You never want the spring to be too strong or too weak; otherwise you will have difficulty keeping your window open, or, conversely, keeping it closed. To know which stamp option to select for each balance, the best thing to do is to weigh your window sashes. Those precise weights can be matched with the weight ranges we list for each stamp option on the product pages. Take a look and see what you think.
