Channel balance replacement
I need to change two windows' channel balances, four channel balances in total.
The lenght of them is 29in and 9/16in width with a stamp 28201 B.S.I.
The photos were attached. Not sure if you need more information.
Thank you,
Joshua
Hello, thanks for posting! It looks like you could have either our S351-29 or S390-29 with the 2820 stamp option. The difference between the Series 351 and the Series 390 lies in the depth of the shoe. Take a look at the picture below for more detail. Once you have determined this dimension you should be able to select the appropriate balance.
Now, normally how much time should these balances work for? In the sense of what is the estimated time between replacements? And also, is there a way to keep these balances clean? Mine, for example, the springs are rusty. I'm guessing it's the first time they are going to be replaced after the house was originally built in the 90s.
Thanks for your support!
There are a number of factors at play when it comes to the lifespan of a balance, but typically they can last around 15 years. In regards to cleaning them I'm not quite sure what to use. I will get in touch with one of our senior experts about this and get back to you shortly!
Thanks for your patience. For cleaning rusty springs, WD-40 might be your best candidate!
It’s my pleasure. Thank you for choosing SWISCO.com. We really appreciate your business and hope you will consider us for your future hardware replacement needs.
