Channel balance replacement

Question

Hi,
Please help identify the correct replacement to buy. I don't know the window's brand. It's at least a 30 years old window that came with the house when I bought it.

Thanks for posting. See the S351-24 or S390-24. The difference between these two channel balance is the depth of the bottom nylon shoe. See below. Measure your old balance's shoe depth to see what matches best.

You then have to choose a stamp option, which reflects the balance's strength. Your old balance's stamped of 2390 is from an outmoded rating system; however that second stamp of 28 likely you means you have a 28 pound window sash. You can weigh the sash to confirm this. If so, choose the 2360 stamp, which denotes a balance that can support a window sash in the weight range of 27 through 30 pounds.
