Channel balance replacement part

Home Owner from Elk Grove, California.
Hi, I need to replace a channel balance in a vinyl window in my house. The house was built in 2006, and the block and tackle balance was original and has never been replaced before.

The following is etched into the channel BSI 31 5 pj

I may be wrong, but from this, I figure that I need to purchase a BSI 31 inch unit with a weight capacity of 50 lbs. I don't know what the pj means.

Can you please help me on what unit (model number, part number, etc) I need to purchase.

Thanks you.

Hello!

Thank you for contacting us. I'm afraid we aren't able to identify your balance without photos. Can you remove one from the window and show us photos of the top and bottom fittings?

The 31 5 stamp tells us the weight range the balance is calibrated for so the 5 doesn't mean the window sash is 50 pounds. The length is also usually 1 more than the first two numbers. For example, the metal channel would measure 32" long.

Thank you.

Thanks for the photos! I'm very familiar with this balance. It's an extended travel type, which we can help with, but it will need to be a custom order due to the configuration. The pulley wheel is built into the bottom fitting itself and this balance features an extended cord travel. The metal channel length also differs from any of the stock balances we carry; instead of measuring on an even inch, it will actually measure ending in 5/8". In your case, the metal channel length should measure 31-5/8" long.

I will just need a few more bits of information so that I can draft a price quote. Can you show us a photo of the metal clip attached at the end of the pulley cord? How many balances are you looking to order?

Hi, please see the picture of the clip, sorry for it being a bit blurry.

I am looking to purchase 2 of these, one for each side of the window.

Thank you.

This picture will do just fine, thank you! What I will do now is email you a purchase link and price quote for (2) balances that you can use to place an order on our website.

Let me know if you have any other questions!
