Channel balance and shash guide

A handy person from 21044 says:

Windows are 3o plus years old. Manufacture was Rolleson (SP???). Channel balance is 31" long plus end caps. See pictures of the I have 24 windows, probably 20 are in need of replacement so quote 20 and then option if bought all 48. There is a marking 3030 on channel.

Also need shash guides as per picture. Again quote 20 and option for 48.

Do you have enough information?

Thank you. Steve

Thanks for your photos. Based on what I see here, you have either our S380-31 or S385-31, depending on the depth of the bottom shoe. That's the only difference between them. I recommend measuring your shoe and referring to our dimensions to confirm the best match.

As for the top sash guide, I am confident that our 18-124P is what you want.

Bottom dimension is 1"

To be safe I will order for one window, then make sure it fits then replace the rest.

Since windows are 30 plus years do you recommend only fixing broken (ten windows) or doing all 24?

Great! That sounds like a good plan. As for whether all your window balances need to be replaced, I think that's going to be a likely scenario. Assuming that they were all installed at the same time, then the window you're having problems with now may be a precursor to more problems to come. It may not be for a few years, but you will probably have to replace those balances eventually.
