Channel balance and top sash guide

Question

Good morning. Last night I changed my window channel balances from one window to another and I could not be any prouder of myself. :-)

Now I need to buy new ones for the other window. I took a picture of the # on the channel balance itself and it states 28 4 with some other letters or numbers that I could not read. I measured the channel balance and it is 28 & 7/8" in length.

I also broke a plastic piece that screws into the top side of the window itself (it looks like it shields anything from falling into the side where the channel balance is), do you sell those?

No need to be sorry, I appreciate a thorough post! We can definitely help you replace this hardware. Start by looking at our S390-29 or S351-29. I think you have one of these two balances. The only difference between them is the size of the bottom shoe; The S390-29 comes with the 15-001, which is 1-1/8" deep, while the S351-29 comes with the 15-002, which is 1" deep. You'll have to measure your original shoe to confirm the best match.

Keep in mind your shoe may be a little smaller than it once was due to wear. When you open and close these windows through the year, the friction rubs on the shoe and reduces its depth slightly. Just keep that in mind when you measure.

As for the top sash guide, it's tough to say for sure what you have, but start with our 18-166. Carefully compare our dimensions to your part to see if they match up. If they differ in any way, let me know how.
