Channel balances

Handy Person from Boynton Beach, Florida
Non tilting window, very difficult to open and close. Replaced two broken 18-127 parts. Want to see if replacing the channel balances solves the issue. Are you able to identify the correct channel balances I need from the pictures.

Hello,

Thanks for writing in! There is a strong likelihood replacing the balance should replace the issue you are experiencing. Based on the stamp, I believe your balance can be replaced with either the S380-30 or the S385-30. Be sure to double check that length of the channel is 30". To determine which series you have, you'll need to measure the depth of the bottom shoe.

Our 2960 stamp will support a sash weighing between 32 to 35lbs.

I confirmed the length at 30", and the shoe is 1". So I'm now confident I need a set of S380-30. Before I order, I will weigh the sash to confirm it is between 32-35 lbs.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Jasmine,
The window's weight is 25 lbs. Do you still recommend the 2960?

No, that stamp will be too strong for the confirmed sash weight. A better option would be the 2940 stamp which can support 23 to 28lbs.
