Charge or replace balances?

Question

I have several tilt windows where the lower sash will not stay up. Can I use a 75-006 spiral balance charging tool to add pressure (by rotating clockwise) on the series S900 red tip balances or do the balances have to be replaced? These windows are 25+ years old and most of the sashes drop very quickly when opened.

Yes, that's a smart idea. In a lot of cases, the balance doesn't need to be replaced, just charged! Check out our video for instructions on how to do it.
