Charging balance

A quick learner from Mississippi says:
I'm curious about which way I'll need to turn the spiral. We removed both balances and noticed the tension when doing so, and didn't know we'd have to add tension back until we got everything back together. Now the sash is fairly difficult to raise and has no staying power to remain up. It's kind of cold today so in a few days I'll go at it again, but I'd like to know which way I should charge them... cw or ccw. LOL. Life is a lesson every day if you're doing anything at all so thanks for the Q&A you provide.

Hello,

If you have tilt windows, you probably need the 75-006 charging tool. We related a few helpful guides for you to review. Most tilt balances are charged by turning the spiral clockwise. You will feel the tension build in the tube.

After you install the balance tube in the track, hook the spiral with the tool and charge the spiral close to the nylon bearing at the base of the balance tube to get the best results. Thanks for posting!
