Clad case master Marvin Windows

Question

Hello. We have 2 clad case master Marvin windows. The cranks (part number 10898240 ) no longer work. They are discontinued. There may also be a problem with the operator too. When the cranks did work, we could get the window to open. However, to close the window you'd have to lean on it from the outside to make it close. This involved standing on a ladder and using a broom handle to push the window closed while someone inside tried to lock it closed!

Can you advise me as to next steps? I really appreciate any help you can give me! Thank you.

Thanks for writing in! From what you've described and what I can see in the photos, the worm gear in the center of your operator has been stripped. I'm happy to recommend a replacement for it but I'll need to see a photo of the entire operator to identify it.

Since you've already included a photo of the base, I'll just need to see a photo of the arm(s) and how the operator attaches to the bottom of the swinging window sash. This operator based is similar to the base on a few different operators.
