Thanks for posting, Maria. This is a coil balance system. Coil balance systems are identified by the pivot shoe, or the bottom part with the metal cam--the identity of the pivot shoe determines the identity of the coil springs you need. Your pivot shoe looks like our 15-228. This shoe works with either our Series 160 or Series 165 Coil Balances, depending on the thickness of your old springs. To know what spring weights you need, you'll need to look for stamp codes on the springs. If there are none or you are uncertain, give us the exact weight of your window sash, and we'll work out what you need. Many thanks.

A handy person from Brooklyn, NY says:
Hi Bob,

The pivot shoe does not have a serial number of any kind and the stamp codes the springs that go on the shoes are partial. Please see attached pictures and let me know if this helps narrow down the search.

If this doesn't help please explain what the window sash is.

Thank you for all your help.....much appreciated.

These photos help a lot Maria, thank you. For your pivot shoe, see our 15-228. You just want to compare your measurements with ours to confirm this will work. For your coil spring marked with a "9", our S160-9 should do the trick. This spring can be used with the 15-150S support cover. It's best to look at each part mentioned and hopefully this will have answered all of your questions.

A handy person from Brooklyn, NY says:
Hi Paul,

I have one more question. Do the parts work for both windows sashes?

thanks

Yes. These can be used for either side of the window.
