Coil Balance weight

Hello;

How do you tell what weight a coil balance supports? I need to replace the all 6 coil balances in one of my single-hung windows (3x on each side); and I can't find the weight on the old coil balances.

There should be a number printed on the coil spring itself, near the screw hole. You will need to remove the balances from the window in order to check.

If there are no stamps on the springs, then please take a few pictures of your springs and of the pivot shoes to which they attach. Please also tell me the weight of your sash. With this information, we can make a recommendation.
