Coil Balancer - 6 or 9

A home owner from Maryland says:
Hello!

I believe this an S190 Coil Balance Spring based on other comments I read, but I can determine how to read the weight on the spring from which direction. Is this a 6lb or 9lb spring?

Thanks!
Don

Thanks for reaching out! I believe the stamp on the coil could be a 6 but to be sure, I would recommend obtaining the exact weight of your window. The 6 and the 9 is, unfortunately, one of the stamps that is not immediately obvious. The stamp orientation changes all the time so the best way to know is the get the window window.

Once you've obtained the window weight you'll need to divide that number by the number of coils to confirm the exact coil spring you'll need.
