Coil Replacement

Hi there. The two coils on my ViWinTech window broke. The bottom half of the window opens about 18" or so. The only stamp on the coil seems to be an "F". I think I need S152-9(?). The shoes and other hardware all seem to be fine.

Hello, thank you for posting,

If you only need new springs, the Series 152 would be the right fit for your pivot shoe. To further review, can you provide the weight of the window sash? You will need to remove the sash and place it on a bathroom scale.

From there we can determine the correct weight options for your window. Thank you!

The sash is 15 pounds exactly.

Hi Robert,

For a 15 pound window sash, you can use (1) S152-8 coil spring on each side of the window. This will give you 16 pounds of support, but as long as you are within a pound range, the window will function properly. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
