Hello there!

This looks like our 15-191 pivot shoe to me. The Series 160 are the compatible coil springs. Look over the specifications and let me know if you have any questions!

Hi, I am having trouble getting the coil spring on the coil spring support. The new coil spring inside diameter is 5/8 inches, the old coil spring diameter is 6/8 inches. Is it the wrong coil spring? Is there a way to trim the coil spring to increrase the inside diameter of the new coil spring. Or maybe a different coil spring support? I am including a picture.

We don't recommend trimming the coil spring but the Series 160 is designed to fit in the 15-150S single coil spring support. It might be that you have an older version which is why the new springs didn't fit into your old support.

I ordered the new coil spring supports as suggested but it still does not fit? I wonder if they sent me the wrong coil spring? My order form says they sent the S160-9. However my coil spring has a BN 43 marking and a 9 marking and is copper colored.

The inside diameter of my new coil spring is just shy of 11/16 inches. The new coil spring support is the same size as my old coil spring support, it measures 12/16 inches strong. There is no give to the support or coil spring, I tried with quite a bit of force to get the spring on the support but it will not go. I even put the boot on one coil spring and unwound and retracted it a couple of times on a spindle, but it did not change the inside diameter of the coil spring. Getting a little frustrated..

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Looking at these new photos, it does appear that the spring you received is our S160-9, so it's definitely the right part.

I'm not sure I understand why the inner diameter of the spring is coming into play at all. The inside diameter shouldn't be relevant. Are you trying to fit the spring over the base of the cover, where the screw goes? That might be your problem. It's not meant to fit into the base, but rather rest on top of it. The cover is supposed to cradle the spring, not go through it.

I see what you are saying, I feel dumb now! I took pictures of the old coil spring support before I took it out and they had it around the botton knob and not above it. So I assumed that was how it worked.
