Coil balance

Quick Learner from College Park
The balance broke. I have not removed the part. I can't see a part number on what is there but it's about 1 3/4 " long and 1 1/4 " wide I included the model of the window, I hope that helps.

Hello there. The pivot shoe looks like it might be the 15-191. This shoe works with either 1/2" thick Series 160 Coil Balance springs, or the Series 165 3/8"thick springs. You'll need to remove the assembly from the window and measure the thickness of the coil spring tape to determine which you have. The video below shows how to do this. Let me know if you have further questions about this hardware.

The pivot shoe is 1/2" thick.

The coil is also 1/2 in thick. From what I can tell what is stamped on here looks like 35 in. But I do not know the weight.

Sending more pictures and also a picture of the cover so I can replace that as well.

Do you recommend replacing both sides at the same time?

You all are awesome! Thank you!!!

Great, thanks! So that would be our Series 160 spring along with a 15-150S single spring support cover.

If there's no stamp that indicates weight, then you will need to weigh your sash on a scale and divide it in half. That should tell you which Series 160 option is best for your window.

Lastly, I absolutely recommend replacing both springs at the same time, yes, though everything else can be reused as long as they aren't damaged.
