Coil spring broke ..both sides

A quick learner from Orange County, NY says:
The coil spring in the window on both sides has broke, the window will not stay up; the weight of the window is 17 pounds, unfortunately we do not know the name or make of window. It is a single hung, window is installed around 1996, no visible markings or make on the window.

Hello!

This looks like an older version of our 15-180, which uses Series 190 coils springs. Compare our dimensions to yours to see if this matches up to your original pivot shoe.

If your window weighs exactly 17 pounds, you can use one S190-440 and one S190-540 on each side of the window. This would total 18 pounds of overall support; so long as the spring weights are within a pound of your sash's actual weight, this setup should work for you.

Let me know if you have any questions!
