Coil spring replacement

Question

Not sure what I should do. There is no slot to take out the spring. I weighed the window and it is 14 lbs. any ideas at would be appreciated. I really don't want to cut the window to get the sping out but i am not sure what else to do

We'd be happy to help but we would need to see your balance springs and pivot shoe fully removed from the window to determine the correct replacements. The width and thickness of the shoe are also key dimensions. We do recommend making a cut out in the sash to replace the hardware but we have a video below to walk you through the process. Thank you!
