Coil spring window balance

Contractor from Delaware
Hello,

I need to identify this broken coil spring so I can replace them all on a property. I have 7 days left before inspection, so any assistance so I can purchase them would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for posting. This is a 15-180 Pivot Shoe, which uses Series 190 Coil Balances. If you're uncertain what spring weight you need for the coil springs, give me the exact weight of your window sash, and I can work it out for you.

It has a 6 stamped on it. So the sash must be 12. Does it all come pre assembled or assembled during installation? Just want to make sure I don't miss ordering any parts.

I agree, if your old spring is rated for 6 pounds then you almost certainly have a 12 pound sash. You may still want to triple check that just to be sure, but going forward it's a reasonable assumption.

These components are not assembled, unfortunately. Each part is sold separately. The benefit of this is that you only need to replace what's broken; for instance, you can reuse the old cover and shoe as long as they're undamaged.
