Cole sewell Cambridge series storm creen door. How to remove the self storing screen unit

Home Owner from Schenectady, NY
The screen has never been removed/ It now needs to be rescreened and I am unable to tell how to remove it from the door frame There are only 2 pegs from the screen into the door frame and the do not turn or appear to retract. What are they supposed to do? The door is in great shape except for the pet holes in the screen so I do not want to destroy or damage the frame.

They could be pull pins like our 70-009. They should retract when you pull on them. If not, the spring inside could be rusted and it froze in the frame. Try some lubricant like WD-40 or Liquid Wrench and maybe that will free up the pin. If you're still not sure please send us a photo so that we can get a better look at the problem.

That's what we did. WD 40 and pliers and the pins retracted.
Thank you for the prompt reply

To be perfectly honest, you don't have a lot of options other than using lubricant. What I usually do is soak it WD-40 for a few days to give it time to work. Then try using a set of pliers, twisting it and pull it to get it to let go of the screen frame.

There's no tricks to this beyond that. It just takes patience and a little elbow grease.
