Color tip for S600-26

Question

I have windows they weigh 19.6 lbs.  the existing spiral balances are 5/8 in diameter and 26" long.  They have a red tip. Should I replace them with the blue tip spiral balance?

The Red Tip option for this balance can hold sashes weighing 7 through 29 pounds, which easily covers 19.6 pounds. I don't see any reason why you would need a stronger spring. I recommend sticking with what the original installers used. They may have had a good reason for using Red Tip instead of Blue.
