Hello, Brad. I would suggest replacing the wool pile with something like our 58-179. Check it out and let me know what you think. As for the Lock face plate, it could be either the short throw 79-029 or the long throw 79-030.

Thanks, how do I know if I need a short throw or long throw?

The difference is the size in the opening for each face plate. The long throw has a larger opening, while the short throw's is smaller. You would need whichever accommodates your lock mechanism more comfortably.
