Confirmation of correct replacement channel balances

A quick learner from Oakland, CA says:
Hi there,

I have 2 different sized non-tilting windows with the same type of channel balance that I need to order. Based on the pictures (attached) of the top and shoe plastic fittings I think I have 1/2" Series 380, 27" (metal only measured) channels as follows:

1. Small window with weight of 22.4 lbs, Item number 2640.
2. Larger window with weight of 34.6 lbs, Item number 2665.

I used a bath scale to weigh and the #2 window was if accurate was within your specs for 2665.

Could you confirm that I have selected the correct items so that I can order the right pair of channels for each window? They are Milgard windows.

Thanks very much, Michael

Hello,

With this combination of attachments, you could have either an S380-27 or S385-27 channel balance. You’ll need to measure as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. You'll also need 2640 spring strength options for the balances in your smaller window and 2665 options for your replacement balances in the larger window.

to weigh your sash to determine which option you'll need. There is a chart on the product page that explains how to choose your option based on the sash weight.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
