Constant force balance confusion

A quick learner from USA says:
I have an aluminum, vinyl coated window with a constant force spring that needs to be replaced. I am extremely handy, but I cannot figure out how to remove the sash (see photos) to identify what product I need. Also, this is a metal window and there is no cutout in the channel where i could remove the balance if I figured out how to remove the sash. Help!

Hello,
Take a look at the video below demonstrating the removal process for coil balances like yours. Keep in mind that removing the sash isn't as easy as it seems in the video and does take some elbow grease. The trick is to raise the sash a few inches and push one corner of the sash up at a time so that the pivot bar will pop out of the shoe.
We've also related a few videos to help you get the pivot shoe out of the jamb. Thank you!
