Convert 39-083 to a lever operated

Question

I believe I have a 39-083 crank operator and want to know if I can switch over to a lever type operator. The crank operator that I have now seems prone to breaking the worm gear inside. this will be my 3rd replacement.

Thanks for posting, Randy. It's hard to say if a lever-type handle will work for you. It may require some retro-fitting, especially where the base mounts to the sill. We also don't have a lever-type awning operator that comes in the same size. That said, see our 39-069. I can't guarantee it will work, but it would be your best bet.

Keep in mind that the most common cause of worm gears breaking in operators like the 39-083 is excessive turning of the handle after the window is closed.
