Corner Assistance

Question

Hello,
Customer brought in a piece of his broken 5/16 corner after purchasing some 5/16 corners from our store. As you can see in image C_1, the new corner and the remnant of his existing corner butted against the new do not align. please advise if you have any thoughts on our predicament.
