Covering over spiral balances

Question

We're adjusting our spiral balances and replacing the pivot shoes on our 25 year old tilt in windows. I don't know the brand name of the windows. There's a plastic casing that snaps on to cover that spiral balance area of the window frame. It's so old and brittle, when we try to remove these covers to get to the spiral balance area, they crack and break so we can't reuse them.
Any ideas for replacements?
