A handy person from Wisconsin says:
The shaft pulls right out and prevents window from closing.

Hello,

We see this happen fairly often and, unfortunately, means you'll need a replacement operator. We should be able to help but we'll need to see a picture with the window pushed open as far as it will go so that we can see the arms that move the window. Thank you!

Let me know if you need more.

This is perfect, thank you so much!

Please see our 39-031 and 39-032 to start out. I am confident these will match, though you should definitely look over our dimensions to be 100% sure. Take special note of the size of the link arm, which is 4-7/16" for the two parts I recommended.

You should be able to reuse your old handle and cover, but if that's not possible then see our 39-114L and 39-107, respectively.
