Friend from Boston
This is from a fifty it sixty year old window. It appears as though the internal mechanism is no longer worker. Please suggest the appropriate replacement parts.
Thanks, Grace

Thank you for contacting us. Please take a look at our 39-005 jalousie window crank and our 39-346 operator replacement kit. I believe either of these could work as a good replacement for you.

the attached picture shows my old part in comparison to the swisco replacement part. you can see that the new part is about one inch too short. can you recommend a part with a longer arm. also I need some help with returning the original order and cant locate my swisco account.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'm not sure why the 39-005 you purchased didn't work, though. There is a slight difference in arm size, but these have a lot of play and can be very forgiving. In my experience, it should still work despite the size. I would try installing it just to see if it would still work. If not, let me know.

This item was installed and the jalousied windows would not completely close (by about an inch.....which is the difference in the length of the arm). Do you have a crank with a longer arm? or can you refer me to another manufacturer? Thanks, Gace

Check on your window linkage on the side of the window were the arm attaches. In many jalousie windows, there are different hole positions in the linkage where you can attach the jalousie arm to make up for the different length. If not, you can possibly drill a hole in the linkage were you need it. You could also consider our 39-346 Jalousie kit. That has an assortment of arms, and one of them is 5" long. Would that be long enough to fit your window?
