Crank window

A quick learner from Washington, DC says:
I have a window where the bolt that holds the crank in has come lose. I have started the nut back into the crank shaft. It seems like I need a special tool to tighten the nut so it is flush with the crank handle. Can any one advise the window make, model, or what tool would be needed.

Once that special threaded collar comes out of the operator base, it will not hold back into the casing. It cannot be repaired or replaced, unfortunately; you will need to replace the complete operator.

I can't tell what yours is based on that picture, but take a look at the 39-312. Yours looks similar from what I can see but I'm not sure it you have the same attachments at the end of the arms.

I also see you have the mounting screws installed from the back side of the operator. What I have done in this case was to press the 33-205 threaded nuts into the mounting holes on the base of the 38-312 using a bench vise. You will need to use a 10-24 machine screw to match the threads in the 33-205.
