Crank/handle for front door sidelight window

Thanks so much for reaching out to us. Looks like your worm gear came out; that's the corkscrew-shaped gear at the bottom end of your handle. That's not supposed to come out, and if it has then that means your operator is striped out. The entire mechanism has to be replaced. The handle is actually probably still in good condition, and can be reused.

I can't tell precisely what operator you have from these photos but it looks pretty close to our 39-083, 39-140, or maybe even the smaller 39-143. Review each product to verify the best match. If you aren't sure, show me a phot of your entire operator out of the window so that I can get a better look at it and we can work from there.

You don't want to break the frame, but you will need to pry the wood trim off. We have a video that may help you do that. The operator hardware shown in this video is very different, but you can ignore that; what matters most is how we show the proper method of prying up a wood sill trim.

I'm afraid these photos don't tell us much that we didn't know already. The operators i suggested before remain my best suggestions.

Note that the manufacturer recommends measuring these from "elbow" to "elbow" while the operator is fully closed. You won't get an accurate measurement while it's partially open like this. Just something to keep in mind.
