Crestline casement window crank and handle

Home Owner from Chicago
Hi,

We have very old casement windows and the handles are starting to break off. Inside the handle, it says 45054. Do I need to replace the entire mechanism? It looks like this one is more than just the handle. What do you recommend?

Hi there Eva.

Thanks for reaching out to us. The worm gear coming out with the handle is a sign that you'll need to replace the whole operator assembly. Can you open the window and show us a bird's eye view of the arms that move the window sash? That will allow us to confirm if we have a comparable match.

Hi,

Here are some photos from both inside and outside. Hopefully you can advise us based on those.

Thank you for the additional photos! Take a look at the 39-216 and 39-217. Review the specifications and see if they match what you're searching for.

Hi,

It looks like the 39-216 will fit. Given that there was that additional section that broke off inside the handle, do we also need to order other components?

The additional section you're referring to sounds like the worm gear which is already machine pressed into the 39-216 operator. You can reuse the old handle and cover if they're in good shape. The worm gear should be able to be pulled from your old handle. If you'd like new handles and covers, see the 39-114L and 39-107 which are sold separately.
