Crestline window screen part.

A home owner from Boothwyn says:

Full screen with spring latch pins for each side of the screen to hold the screen in place. My windows are from the 80's and the white plastic part has cracked from age and spring is missing or rusty due to this issue I can not use several of my windows as several screens can not stay in the frame.

I sent a picture of the hole for the spring to go into frame of screen, the part and how it looks in place and the broken spring latch missing the spring and showing the white piece has cracked.

I hope you can help me. I enjoy having the windows open.

Linda

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Hey, Linda. This looks like it could be replaced by either our 70-008 or 70-009 plunger pin, depending on the size of your original. Look them over and see if you agree. You'll note that our plastic caps are black, rather than white. They should hold up a little better under sun exposure becuase of this.

A handy person from Maryland says:
I have old (35 yr) crestline windows. It looks like you may have the screen plunger pins I will need. Do you also have the plastic cup that the pin would lock into? The cup would go into an existing 3/8 in hole in the window frame.

Tom from SWISCO responded:

It sounds like you're referring to the grommet. We actually did sell these at one time, but they were discontinued some years ago. At this time we have no alternative, and I'm not sure that they're even made anymore.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
