I am looking to purchase two of these balances for a 23.4lb sash.
I've attached two photos. One is of the original channel balance (on the right in the pictures) and the replacement that I purchased. The replacement does not hold the window up and you can see in the pictures that the spring is much more robust in the original channel balance.
Thanks for reaching out to us. If your sash weighs 23.4 pounds then it's no wonder your balances were too weak before. Your old stamp reads 1510 which is the weakest spring option available for this size.
I actually think you want the strongest option available, which is 1565. Two balances with this stamp can carry 20 through 23 pounds. Now, please note that that's .4 pounds lighter than your sash at its highest range. You might want to double check your sash weight to ensure that this will work.
