Custom length??

from CA
Hi, I have two different windows that need sash replacements, both from the same manufacturer.
I've determined both to be Series 385 replacements, but I'm trying to determine what length I need. When measuring ONLY the metal in length (I am not including the base or shoe in length, only metal part), they measure as:
First window: metal length measures 14 & 3/4 inches (stamped with "14 2")
Second window: metal length measures 26 & 3/4 inches (stamped with "26 2")

Are these custom lengths, or should I round up in the order? i.e., 15" for the one stamped "14 2" and measuring 14.75", and 27" for the one stamped "26 2" and measuring 26.75"??

Thanks!

Thanks for contacting us. You don't want to round on length when it comes to channel balances. I suspect you don't have the Series 385, but something special. Can you show me photos to confirm? I'd like to see a clear picture of the top nylon fitting, the bottom nylon fitting, the stamp, and the metal hook at the end of the cord. Since you have two balances, it would be a huge help if you can provide these photos in two different posts. That way everything is nice and clear for us. Thank you!

Thanks Tom. I'm including a few posts here, this first one is of the "26" channel balance.

Thanks!

Perfect, thank you! These are exactly what we needed to see. I can confirm that you have what I suspected you had, so this will be a special order. For reference, the length isn't the only special part of these; the pulley wheel is also built into the shoe itself. Plus the cord has extra travel, allowing it to work for certain windows where balances like our Series 385 would fail.

Either way, I'll email you two order links and price quotes right now for 2 of each balance. If you wanted to change that quantity, let me know right here in this thread and I'd be happy to change it.
