Thanks for reaching out to us. We should be able to supply this balance, but it will have to be a custom order due to its configuration. You have a special type of extended-travel channel balance, so this isn't something we can supply as a stock order.

Before we go any further, can you kindly tell me the number stamped on the bottom fitting? It should be either 3 or 4 digits.

Can you also tell me how many balances you needed altogether?

Tom,

The number on the bottom fitting is 180 and it has a smaller print 7 below it.  Couldn't get a good picture.  I only need one balance, but is it recommended that I replace the opposite balance to match the new one?  You mentioned it is a custom order so I would like to know the cost of the part before deciding whether to buy qty of 1 or 2.

Thanks,

Tony

Perfect, thanks! "180" is exactly what I was looking for.

Regarding quantity, we can only supply 2 at minimum due to the fact that this is a custom order. It's for the best anyway, since we always recommend that you replace both balances as a matter of policy. You never want to mix old and new assemblies; reason being that balance springs grow weaker over time. The weight your old springs can hold is probably far less than it was when they were brand new. So when you have an older, weaker spring paired with a new spring working at optimal capacity, the newer balance has to work extra hard to pick up the slack for its partner. This leads to extensive wear-and-tear.

For now, I'll email you a purchase link and price quote that will let you add 2 balances to your cart. You can then checkout as normal directly on our site. Please note that these are not in stock, so there is an expected lead time of 5-6 business weeks.
