Damaged patio door handle
I ordered a part from you that was supposed to correspond to this part. It does not, it does not have the center hole like the dated one does. I have to return it, and I would like to know if you have the part in the photo.
Thanks for posting. The center hole on your old handle set would have been for your thumb lever; the 82-035 has an adjustable thumb lever that allows it have the same centered position as your old one. Did you try installing the 82-035 and it was unable to work? If not, is it because your old thumb lever had a different style? If that's the case we'd need to see a picture of your old thumb lever see if there's something else we could recommend.
You shouldn't have to drill through anything. Can you go into more specific detail? That middle hole shouldn't prevent our 82-035 from working. I can't visualize how it would.
Assuming the thumb levers have the same type of tail, then the only difference between your handle and our handle is that your thumb lever goes outside the base plate while our thumb lever goes under the base plate. But that doesn't mean anything, they still work the same way.
Please be as detailed as possible. I've come across your handle in the past before and the 82-035 worked fine as a replacement. Unless there's something different about your handle that's not shown in your photos, then the 82-035 should have worked.
As for the screws being too long, you could always reuse your old ones.
