I have a Pella Storm Door that I purchased from Lowes in 2009. The door serial number is 90567322100310
Late last summer, the door handle began sticking and was sometimes difficult to open the door. As 2018 progressed, the door stuck closed more often than not. The door got to a point that it was a great struggle to get the door unlocked or locked. It no longer works at all now and is stuck in the locked position.
The entire door handle and lock no longer work at all now.
Lowes passed the problem onto Pella Storm Doors

Thanks for posting. Sounds like a problem with your mortise lock; but if it's stuck in the locked position, there's not going to be an easy way to get it out. You can try removing the handle set and attempt to manually throw the lock with a screwdriver; but if that fails, you will unfortunately need some way to cut the mortise lock out of the door. If it comes to that, it's going to be quite a project, and we highly recommend you contact a professional for this. Let us know how things work out for you, and thanks for considering us. |
