Depth measurements of the 18-009

I have selected the 18-009 top sash guide for Kinco non-tilt windows. Depth seems to measure 8/16' instead of the 11/16' in sketch. All other dimensions match. Do i have the right part?

Make sure you are measuring the correct depth. I had the profile of the 18-009 photographed with dimensions so that the dimensions are more clear. The very top depth, the cap, is 11/16".

I have 5 windows with damage balances, chord cut. What can be the reason for this? is part(18-009) installed on the stationary side of window or on the moving side? I cannot see it on my window frame. I would be ordering and installing new balances (S390-30), should i order 18-009 also?.

The top sash carriers go on both sides of the moving sash. The sash carriers hold down the balance, guiding the window sash in the main frame, keeping the sash centered. Balance cords often times break from old age.
