Difficult To Open Vinyl Window

Vinyl window is very difficult to open and close.Plastic piece that fits in track is cracked. Windows are about 20 years old but still in good shape.

Well, if the window is hard to open and close, then the problem is likely with the balances. You also mention a cracked plastic piece, but I don't know what that would be.
