Dimensions of Window Crank

Good morning. I'm looking at the Window Dyad Crank, product code: 39-089. I've attached a pic of the current crank I'm replacing. The product description says, "Truth Hardware Dyad crank operator with a 5" arm, 5" hole centers, rear mount, and a 8-32 thread, for a casement window." If the "arm" is the final piece (grey in my pic) which actually attaches to the window, then my arm is 4.5" . If the "hole centers" is referencing the screw openings on the molded white piece (which remains inside the house, while mounted by screws coming in from outside) then yes, those hole centers are 5" apart on my white molded piece. Have I understood the dimensions as given in the description? Based on my measurements, I was thinking that I need a "4.5" arm, 5" hole centers". Can you please advise? Thank-you.

Thanks for contacting us! I have seen a version of the 39-089 with a 4-1/2" long arm from time to time in other customer posts. I don't think this size is made anymore--or, at least, we've never been able to find it.

You could still use our 39-089, but you will need to adjust the position of the sash bracket to which the arm attaches. This will require drilling new holes.

The only other alternative would be to swap the link arms between the old and new operator. This can be a little involved, so let me know if you want to go this route. I find adjusting the bracket position to make up the difference is easier, but if that is not possible for you then swapping arms is a working alternative.
