Discontinued Simonton Pivot Bar?

Home Owner from Dudley, MA
I can not find this pivot bar anywhere. It is nearly identical in length to the Simonton 26-336 Pivot Bar. Unfortunately, my pivot bar has a t shape head that is tapered. I'm hoping to not have to replace my pivot shoes, as the cost of purchasing the sash spreaders would be too costly for a one time use.

The 26-336 was specifically made by Simonton to replace this old pivot bar. Have you tried it out yet? I'd be shocked if it doesn't work in your old pivot shoe. If it doesn't, please show me a couple pictures of the pivot shoe you have now and we can try to work from there.

I could not get it to fit. The collar on this pivot bar is tapered. The 26-336 is rounded and thicker. It did not sit properly in the shoe and would not turn to lock it in. I will take a picture and post it here hopefully today after work.

Not the best pictures...but hopefully you get the idea.

The 26-336 just rotates in place with the current shoe that it's in place.

I'm afraid we haven't been able to find an alternate pivot shoe to what you have pictured. If I understand you correctly, the 26-336 drops into the metal cam but doesn't turn it? Or does it not fit into the cam at all?
