Do I need to adjust my 82-218?

Quick Learner from Tennessee
Recently purchased an 82-218: Mortise Lock, Round Face, 3-11/16" as a replacement for a sliding patio door that had a worn lock. Installation went incredibly smoothly following the instructions provided in the excellent videos provided on the Swisco website.

The lock I removed "looks" almost identical to the 82-218, but when I try to engage the installed lock, it seems to be interfered with by the keeper. I was able to successfully engage the lock by putting a great deal of force on the door (ie. closing it "extra tight") so I'm probably looking at a difference of around 1/8" or less (maybe even 1/16").

Is there an adjustment that can be done to the 82-218 that will allow that locking finger to extend out just a bit further?
If not, is there a recommended keeper I should be using? I'm actually thinking a tiny shim behind my current keeper might bring it out far enough for the finger to clear.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, the 82-218 can indeed be adjusted. The adjustment screw is the one just above the hook, which moves it forward and backward. I think that should be all you need. If it's still not enough, shimming the keeper is definitely not a bad idea, but I think adjusting it a little will take care of the issue for you.

Ha - how blind of me to not see that adjustment screw. I now have a perfectly functioning lock. Thank you so much for the response.

Haha, it happens. It's easy to mistake it for just something that holds pieces of the mortise lock together. This kind of hardware always seems to have bolts and screws scattered everywhere. In any case, I was happy to help. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
