Door Track

Our sliding door doesn't seem to have an actual track that the rollers ride on, just a metal threshold which is now failing. The wheels are creating a groove in the metal which is causing the door to get stuck. Any suggestions?

Looks like you have the old Capitol 930 Series patio door, which is unfortunately no longer being made. The cause of the track damage is usually worn out rollers. Since the track is not repairable, you may want to consider cutting off the remaining bottom rail and screw on a new glass door track like our 80-106 right on the threshold, then give the track a good rub with a lubricant like our 75-077. I also recommend replacing the old roller assemblies, since they are likely damaged. I think our 81-090 roller assembly is a match but you may want to check just to be sure.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was actually thinking of doing exactly as you said!
